Creating A Successful Web Presence

Graphic designer Kathleen Forsythe, website programmer Heather Goff,
and social media marketing expert BZ Riger discuss the “Whys, Whats,
and Hows” of creating a successful web presence. Learn about the
different choices available for building your online brand, and how
to communicate successfully with your target audience.
Taking The Leap
11:30-1:30 pm Whaling Church, Baylies Room
Now that we you have achieved the difficult task of starting your own business
(or are thinking of doing so), you may be asking yourself when or even if it is
time to grow your business. Joan Chaput, a CFO with a large and successful
off-Island business, will explore the differences between the roles of an entrepreneur
and a business manager. This workshop combines strategic tools for forecastinggrowth, understanding cash and funding, and even a bit of soul searching into your
personal connection to your business.
5:30-7:30 Whaling Church, Baylies Room
Is your inner mermaid shivering with the mid-winter blues? Has stress dehydrated your
playful creative nature? Swim through winter with the help of some fresh ideas from
artist/writer Margot Datz, author of "A Survival Guide for Landlocked Mermaids, who will
reprise a weekend workshop she did this summer at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health.
Wear comfortable clothes.

A hands-on workshop outlining how to build and position your brand for growth.
Internationally recognized brand and marketing expert Bill Engler will lead a
fast-paced work session utilizing real world examples to outline brand development
methodologies and industry best practices.
Engler is the founder and chief brand psychologist of Brand Friends, a boutique
business consulting practice which focuses on assisting Island entrepreneurs in
building profitable businesses with sustainable brands. In addition, Bill is a principal
at the new England Consulting Group, a premier marketing management consulting firm.

Special Program: The Yoga of Business
Time and Place: TBD
Sherry Sidoti, owner of Fly Yoga, will direct this special workshop, "The Yoga of Business"
aimed at yoga teachers, massage therapists and others who often work alone and may
need guidance on how to look at themselves as business people. Learn how to value
your time and capitalize on your business assets.
We will dive deeper into our feelings of money, our relationship to finances, and our own
spiritual principals about money and abundance. Additionally, we will offer practical tools
for mapping the ins and outs of your current financial situation and business, and outline
tools to reevaluate both. We will then use what we discover to help one another form a
stronger community of healers and work towards developing a new, personal and nurturing
"take-home" business model for your business and life.

Workshop: Google Love
A 3-hour interactive Google workshop on how to use Google tools to reach more customers,
understand what customers are searching for, and operate more efficiently. This seminar
is ideal for businesses that are new to online advertising as well as existing AdWords
customers who want to get more results from their online advertising investment.
Presented by Tammi Jacobsen, business adviser with the Massachusetts Small Business
